Senior Front-end Developer

Nature House is an international booking platform for a unique vacation in the middle of nature. Our mission is to improve local biodiversity by inviting people to enjoy nature. Our goal is to give more than 1 million back to nature by 2025. To achieve this goal, we are looking for a Senior Front-end Developer who will make our platform a little better every day.

As Front-end Developer you will play an important role in the modernization of our (legacy) software. You will join a multidisciplinary team where you will be co-responsible for the further development of our web application, where performance, scalability and code quality are paramount, in addition to adding new functionality and improving the user experience. The work is diverse and complex due to the different audiences on our website (landlord, guest and internal support).

We develop in two-week sprints. It is a fun team where cooperation is number one. You help yourself and teammates through code reviews and pair programming.

Tech stack: TypeScript, HTML, PostCSS, Jest, Cypress, Storybook, Web Components, Twig, Nunjucks, Node.js. The web application runs entirely in Google Cloud. Our backend ecosystem is built with PHP 8 (Symfony). 

About you

• You develop good code and are used to working with code reviews

• You bring at least 5 years of experience as a front-end developer

• You have a proven pragmatic approach in modernizing a front-end stack

• You know how to take others with you in step-by-step code quality improvements

• You know better than anyone how to write future-proof TypeScript code

• You have knowledge of native browser APIs

• You are familiar with Unit and E2E testing

• Knowledge of Web-Components and design systems is a plus

• You like ownership in your work, from concept to running on production

• You like open communication and direct feedback
